4 Reasons to Stop Worrying

In this blog post I am going to share with you why it's important to stop worrying so much and just be happy. This old cliche/song actually makes a difference when you put it into action in your life.

1. You've Made it This Far

Picture
Think about how far you've come. Think of all of the things you've had to encounter to get where you are today. Remember that time you thought you were at your lowest of lows and nothing could bring you out? Aren't you out? Aren't you better than you were a year ago? If not, that's okay because there's still tomorrow. We are constantly given opportunities to improve and grow. Every time you wake up is another chance to be great despite your circumstances.

2. "Worrying does not take away tomorrow's troubles. It takes away today's peace."

Picture
Spending so much time worrying about things you have no control over doesn't fix your problems it actually creates more. The more time you spend worrying about your current problems the less time you have to embrace today's peace. I've been a victim of my hard times for too long. It's time for us to put the worry aside and start appreciating the present moment. Don't waste valuable time dwelling on things that are out of your control.

3. "Worrying is like praying for what you don't want"

The thoughts that exist in your head manifest into your life. If you are constantly worrying you will see the results of your worry. What we give our time and energy is what manifests in our life. Try spending more time thinking of things that you want to see in your life and watch how you begin to see more positive things reflected instead of the negativity you were constantly worrying about.

4. Most of the things we worry about never actually happen.

Picture
Of all the things you've worried about how many of them actually happened? Not many, right? There has been so many times where I just knew things could only get worse and I would just think so negative. I would tell my self horrible things like "you're not smart enough to pass your classes" because I was worried I was going to fail. I would tell myself "you'll never find a good job" because I was worried I wouldn't be able to find something that was a good fit for me and paid a decent amount of money. I told myself "you'll never find a comfortable place to live" because I've moved around so much. I told myself "you're going to lose your car" because I'm constantly struggling to keep up with bills. But all of those things don't have to be true if I just change my mindset to reflect more positively on my life. I will pass my classes. I will find a good job. I will find a comfortable place to live when the time is right. I will keep up with my bills and manage my budget properly and keep my car. Just changing the way I think these last few weeks has helped me to believe that God has a plan for me and he won't put more on me than I can handle.
Think of these things as you continue with your week and see what kind of changes you see in your life when you reduce the amount of worrying you do. It may seem unreal for a while but you'll start noticing, wow, God really does have my back and I WILL be okay. No more worry! Go through the rest of this week with confidence knowing that everything will be okay!
