I THOUGHT I KNEW WHO I WAS...
Have you ever felt like you knew yourself inside and out, only to realize that you were actually living a life that you weren't truly happy with? I certainly have. I thought I had everything figured out. I knew what I wanted to do with my life, what my values were, and who I wanted to be. But as I got older, I started to feel like something was missing. I felt like I was living life on a path that wasn't mine.
It wasn't until I hit a low point in my life that I truly met myself. I went through some difficult life changes and felt lost. I decided to take a step back and reflect on my life. Who was I really? What did I truly want out of life? It was then that I realized that I didn't know myself as well as I thought I did. I needed to change my environment. I stepped out of my comfort zone and moved to a new state with no plans.
I was questioning everything I thought I knew about myself until I moved. I explored new hobbies, read books on self-discovery, and started journaling. I discovered things about myself that I never knew existed. I learned that I was more creative than I thought. I learned that I had a passion for helping people like me, and that I was capable of so much more than I ever imagined.
Meeting myself wasn't an easy journey. It was uncomfortable and scary at times, but it was also liberating. I feel like I'm finally living life on my own terms. I'm not trying to fit into a mold or live up to anyone else's expectations. I'm being true to myself, and that's the most important thing. Although there's so much more to learn, I'm in a good place and I'm proud of the person I'm growing into.
If you're feeling lost or unsure of who you are, I encourage you to take some time to meet yourself. Explore new things, challenge your beliefs, and be open to change. You may discover parts of yourself that you never knew existed. And when you do, embrace them. Your true self is worth getting to know.
